Welcome to Trollflix! Our platform is a place for creativity, fun, and positive interactions. To ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, we ask that you follow these community guidelines when creating and sharing content, commenting, and engaging with others.

Respect and Positivity

  • Be Respectful: Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Avoid personal attacks, harassment, and bullying.
  • Positive Engagement: Contribute to a positive and supportive community. Encourage others and celebrate their creativity.
  • Constructive Criticism: If you provide feedback, make sure it is constructive and intended to help others improve.

Safety and Security

  • Protect Personal Information: Do not share personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, or financial information, either your own or someone else's.
  • No Doxxing: Never expose, threaten to expose, or publish private information about another person without their consent.
  • Report Misconduct: If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to us. Help us keep the community safe.
  • Secure Your Account: Use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication to protect your account.

Content Guidelines

  • Original Content: Share content that you have created or have the right to share. Plagiarism and content theft are not tolerated.
  • Appropriate Content: Do not post content that is obscene, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate. This includes hate speech, threats, and violence.
  • No Spam: Avoid posting repetitive content, unsolicited advertisements, or irrelevant links.
  • Humor First: Trollflix is built for laughs - upload content designed to make others laugh and bring humor to the community. Off-topic or out-of-context content that doesn't fit this purpose may be removed.
  • Satire Has Limits: Satire, parody, and dark humor are welcome, but humor is never a shield for hate speech, harassment, or attacks on people based on protected characteristics such as race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
  • No NSFW or Mature Content: Do not upload nudity, sexual content, or other NSFW material. Keep what you share suitable for a broad audience.
  • AI and Manipulated Media: Do not post harmful deepfakes or AI-generated media that impersonates real people, spreads misinformation, or is designed to deceive or harm others.
  • No Impersonation or Misinformation: Do not pretend to be another person or brand, and do not knowingly share false or misleading information presented as fact.

Meme Quality Standards

Trollflix is a website as well as an app. On the website a meme is a thumbnail and a title, the way it works on YouTube; in the app it is a full-screen video, the way Shorts and TikTok work. These standards are what makes a meme work on both. Posting curated content is allowed — these are about effort and honest metadata, not about originality.

Content quality

  • Content must be funnyHigh priorityHumourTrollflix is a meme platform. A post that is not trying to make anyone laugh does not belong in the feed, however well it is made.
  • Content must be modifiedHigh priorityEditingRaw reaction clips and untouched GIFs are not memes. Cut, caption, re-frame or otherwise edit what you post. Posting curated content is fine; re-uploading raw footage is not.
  • Content must have soundEditingA completely silent video looks broken, like a failed upload or a GIF that lost its audio, and most viewers swipe on before they find out it is not. Give every meme a track: the original sound, a music bed, or a simple effect. Even a purely visual joke lands better with something underneath it.
  • Content must not be a repost or a duplicateDuplicatesDo not post something that is already on Trollflix, whether it is yours or someone else's.

Visual appearance

  • Select the best looking thumbnailThumbnailOn the website your meme is a thumbnail and a title, the way it works on YouTube. Pick the frame that makes someone want to open it, not whatever the slider happened to stop on.
  • Keep captions inside the safe areasCaptionsText near the edges of the frame gets covered by the app's buttons and bars. Keep captions away from the edges so nothing important is hidden.
  • Frame with the rule of thirdsFramingKeep the main subject away from the edges and corners, so the interface never sits on top of the part people came to see.
  • Trim the watermark outroHigh priorityTrimmingContent that keeps running after the joke, into another platform's watermark or end card, wastes the viewer's time. Cut the tail off before uploading.
  • Make it work with no soundAccessibilityMost people scroll with the sound off. Add subtitles or on-screen text so the meme still lands muted.

Incorrect metadata

  • Curated content cannot be marked as originalHigh priorityOriginalityPosting curated memes is allowed and welcome. Claiming one as your own original work is not.
  • Tags must describe the contentHigh priorityTagsTags are how people find memes. Unrelated or trend-chasing tags misfile your meme and mislead viewers.
  • Category and sub-category must match the contentHigh priorityCategoryPick the category and sub-category the meme actually belongs to. A wrong one buries it in a feed nobody is expecting it in.
  • Explain the meme in the descriptionDescriptionA short description gives the joke its context, so viewers who miss the reference still understand it.
  • Write a title worth clickingTitleOn the website the title is what people read before they watch. Make it interesting and honest — it decides whether the meme is opened at all.

Moderators can flag an upload against any of these standards. A flagged upload stays online, and it costs one count on the single weekly activity it belongs to until the issue is fixed — it does not affect your other uploads or your other activities.

Marking Content as Original

  • Only Your Own Work: Tick Original (OC) only when you made the meme yourself. Reuploads, clips, compilations, and edits of someone else's meme are not original, even if you added a watermark, a caption, or your own voice.
  • Why It Matters: The Original label affects how your content is ranked and promoted, and it counts toward points, creator milestones, Creator Studio extensions, and payouts. Falsely claiming originality takes rewards away from the people who actually made the meme.
  • Do Not Game the System: Repeatedly marking curated or borrowed content as original is treated as fraud, not as a mistake. Upload it as a curated meme instead; sharing curated memes is a normal and welcome part of Trollflix.
  • Consequences: We may remove the Original label, take down the content, reverse any points or earnings it produced, and suspend or permanently ban repeat offenders. If you are not sure whether something counts as original, leave the box unticked.

Child Safety

  • Zero Tolerance: Trollflix has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors is strictly prohibited and is reported to the appropriate authorities.
  • Age Requirement: You must meet the minimum age required to use Trollflix. Do not create or share content that targets, sexualizes, or endangers minors.
  • Report Immediately: If you encounter content that may harm a child, report it to us right away so we can act quickly.

Intellectual Property

  • Respect Copyrights: Do not upload or share content that infringes on someone else's intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks.
  • Credit Creators: If you use someone else's content with permission, give appropriate credit to the original creator.

Interactions and Comments

  • Meaningful Interactions: Engage in meaningful and respectful discussions. Avoid trolling, flame wars, and off-topic comments.
  • No Hate Speech: Do not use language that promotes hatred or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
  • Stay On Topic: Keep your comments relevant to the content being discussed.

Reporting and Moderation

  • How to Report: Use the report option on any post, comment, or profile to flag content that you believe violates these guidelines.
  • What Happens Next: Our moderation team reviews reports and may remove content, warn users, or take further action. Uploaded content may also be reviewed automatically before it goes live.
  • Report in Good Faith: Do not abuse the reporting system with false or mass reports. Misuse may itself lead to action on your account.

Enforcement

  • Violation Consequences: Violating these guidelines may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent banning from the platform.
  • Strikes and Severity: We consider the severity and frequency of violations. Minor issues may begin with a warning, while repeated or serious violations can lead to longer suspensions or a permanent ban. Severe violations, such as those involving child safety, result in an immediate ban.
  • Appeals: If you believe your content was removed in error, you can appeal the decision by contacting our support team, and we aim to review appeals promptly.
