Ready to be seen? Check that appointment off your to-do list with Zocdoc ✅ : https://zocdoc.com/knowyourmeme #sponsored You’ve seen this face. Pale skin, a carved smile, wide, unblinking eyes. Jeff the Killer is one of the most recognizable horror images on the internet, but nearly 20 years after it first appeared, nobody can say for sure whose face it is. WavyWebSurf guest-hosts as we trace the image from a 2005 upload on the Japanese site pya.cc (and an even earlier one on Fileman), through the 2007 NNN screamer video, the 2008 Newgrounds and YouTube posts that gave Jeff his name, and the 2011 creepypasta that turned him into an icon. Then, the decades-long hunt for the real person behind the edit, the strongest lead investigators have found, how Jeff became a meme hall-of-famer, and the movie that might finally be on the way. ▶ WAVYWEBSURF YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@wavywebsurf CHAPTERS 0:00 Who is Jeff the Killer? 1:27 Where the image came from 4:31 The Mariko lead 7:34 NNN and the birth of “Jeff the Killer” 8:48 The 2011 story 10:31 The hunt for the real face 12:04 Jeff the meme 12:33 The Jeff the Killer movie 13:14 Why Jeff won’t die
